How can we use the same material and adapt it to children who learn in a different way? We all have heard about the multiple intelligences, and quite frankly, I have experienced it not only with my students throughout the years, but with my girls now. They are completely different in terms of learning, Valentina is quite auditory and musical, and instantly remembers the exact phrases of movies, family, or what the teacher said that morning. Suzanne, on the other hand, likes the hands on activities, she jumps up and down all day long and loves to dance, so I can say she is kinesthetic. But, they are not just that, because Valentina also loves to draw every single character she watches in her animated films. And, of course, my little one loves to sing too.
So, what I have learned, is that you can't just pretend that every student is learning at the same pace (we all know that), but also there is not just one way of learning for each student. So that's why I decided to make this shapes freebie, and I also included a quick reference chart that can help you vary your activities, not only for the shapes unit, but in any topic. Enjoy!
